The Solos are challenging you to create a modern-day trailer track which could be used in an action, sci-fi or superhero movie trailer. The track needs to stand out, needs to be original. Stay away from the obligatory fast percussion and staccato strings, create something which has a lot of tension, a special angle or just simply gives you the goosebumps. Make sure the music builds and has 1 or 2 short pauses for the editor. They leave the music style and genre up to you. It does not need to be orchestral, anything goes as long as it is powerful and has tension. It does not need to be fast or hard-hitting, even a solo piano or cello can be dramatic. Make the track dynamic, make sure your mix is spot on and picture a trailer when working on the track. To get a feel for the sound they are after, please check out the spotify playlist they have curated exclusively for this competition. Grand Prize:

Since Frank Dukes created the Kingsway Music Library in 2011 as a way to share music and collaborate with his producer colleagues, he has risen in the ranks to become one of the most innovative and sought after producers of the decade. A Grammy Award winner, Dukes has worked with the highest echelon of songwriters, artists and musicians, lending his touch to career-defining neo-classics like Drake’s 0 to 100, Camila Cabello’s Camila, Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys and Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD to name a few.In this time Dukes continued to create and curate for the library, which quickly became a resource for other hitmakers like Boi1da, Hit-Boy, Vinylz, Murdabeatz and MetroBoomin, among others.
Crates of wax, dusty sleeves, and sampled beats: STACKS packs the building blocks of 2000s-era, sample-heavy hip hop into a Play Series instrument full of leads, strings, horns, bass, and sounds influenced by crate digging dedication.
