Eligibility: Open worldwide to participants 18 years and older. Entries are accepted from solo artists, duos, or groups. A LabelRadar account is required to enter.
How to Enter: Participants will create a 16-bar drum loop using raw drum samples recorded by JIN, provided for free by High Speed Boy Inc. for use in the contest.
Who is JIN?
JIN is a prominent Japanese music producer, composer, and lyricist known for his diverse work across various genres. He serves as the producer, composer, and engineer for the vocal group GReeeeN. Notably, GReeeeN's song "Kiseki" was recognized by Guinness World Records in 2009 as the best-selling download single in Japan.

JIN's contributions to film music include winning the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Music for the movie "Kiseki: Sobito of That Day." He also served as a producer for the film "Aiuta: My Promise to Nakuhito."
Beyond his creative endeavors, JIN focuses on nurturing young creators through his leadership roles at High Speed Boyz Inc. and Diosta Inc.

Six Sines by BaconPaulis the new synth by BaconPaul of the Surge Synth Team, created as a kind of '40 day challenge'.
Six Sines is so named because each voice has six sines, with some clever combinations thereof. You might call it an "FM" or "PM" synth (but it also does "RM"). There's lots of modulation options. It comes with some great presets. If you pine for the TX81Z, it may be right up your alley. But it does more than that. It works as a CLAP, VST3, AUv2 (mac) or standalone, supports Windows, Mac and Linux, and has screen reader support on win/mac. It can use quite a bit of CPU if you turn up unison, but its not insanely inefficient.

Compositions should remain engaging and evolve over time without excessive repetition. Vocals are optional, but producers are encouraged to integrate unique sound design elements, custom samples, and synthesized textures.
Vocal & AI Content Guidelines
With the 'Uncertain Future' theme highlighting technological evolution, AI-generated content is regulated to ensure originality.
AI-assisted vocal synthesis tools such as Synthesizer V, Yamaha Vocaloid, and Plogue Alter/Ego are allowed if manually programmed. AI-generated text-to-speech samples may be used if they are significantly altered and not the main vocal element. Tools that assist in composition, like Scaler, InstaComposer, or Cthulhu, are permitted for harmony and melody guidance.
However, fully AI-generated vocals, voice cloning, and AI-generated backing tracks from sources like Suno, Udio, and Soundverse are prohibited, as well as automated DAW tools such as Bandlab SongStarter and PG Music Band-in-a-Box.

Regency is a multi-tiered phase distortion synthesizer which supports the CLAP plugin format and is available for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms.
It offers a novel method of synthesis, based off traditional phase distortion synthesizers. Each of the two generator layers has three editable multi-segment curves which are applied to distort the phase of the generator in series, in modulatable amounts. For modulation there are four envelopes, three multi-segment LFO's and two math modulators, each with several built-in assignment slots. There is also a modulation matrix, and for fx includes bitcrusher, flanger, pattern delay, trancegate, delay line and five-band EQ.
