KVR ONE-SYNTH - CHALLENGE 177 - Synful Orchestra & VSCO2 Percussion

Synful Orchestra is a program that simulates symphonic wind and string instruments using something called 'Reconstructive Phrase Modeling (RPM) technology'. It is different from traditional sample libraries because it emphasizes realistic transitions between notes, and independent control of vibrato, bow and breath noise, and other aspects of musical expression. It stores audio in a additive synthesis plus noise format, allowing for flexible morphing of the sound and even supports "imaginary instruments" by transforming natural sounds.

SOME RULES OF THE CHALLENGES

• Challenge to run from the 1st to the end of the last day, every month (Timezone: UTC-8 time )
• Unless specifically announced before the competition, you must use only one virtual synthesizer for all sounds including percussion. Layering several instances of the synth is allowed.
• Your entry must be composed specifically for this contest. Cover tracks are not permitted.
• Collaborations are allowed. The collaborators do not need to be KVR members.
• Max 1 submission per entrant (person or team)
• No track length limit
• Your entry may be edited / changed / updated as frequently as needed up to the deadline
• Commercial synth patches/soundbanks are not permitted
• OSC might request project files at any time. Failure to produce it upon request will lead to disqualification
  (intellectual property respected with file used for examination only and destroyed immediately afterwards.

Special Additional Rules

1. Percussion: For additional percussion sounds you may use the free VSC02 Percussion
2. Commercial Fx Plugins may be used (Subject to usual limitations regarding Fx use).
3. Free Effects: For this month only  the rules on free Fx type are relaxed  i.e.  modulations, distortions, granular etc. may all be used  (and can go full 11!) as long as the source sound is from the Synful Orchestra and/or VSC02 Percussion - no external sound generators or audiorate modulations.  These must be  freeware and be freely available  at  the start of the competition,  no  betas, demos, magware or freeware that has expired. You should also give a full description of your use of these fx with your submission.
